Team Competition Format.
6 players from each team compete in stroke play competition with the top 5 scores counting toward the team total.

Away Matches.
Matches which are hosted by other teams are considered, Away Matches. Scheduling and costs associated with participation in competition for away matches, such as greens fees and range access are covered by the host team. Only the 6 players competing will receive early release and course access on those days. Golfers not participating in competition are encouraged to attend the match AFTER school via self transport. Students not competing should adhere to golf course / country club attire and etiquette, attend wearing team issued polos / gear, stay on the cart path when a group is competing, quietly observe play, support their teammates. Attendance at away matches is a very good learning opportunity for golfers to study play and course management.

*Home Matches.
Matches that are hosted by Mesa will be played at Cal Oaks Golf Club or Cross Creek Golf Club and denoted with an asterisk. On Home Match days 10 players will receive early release to come to the course and warm up for the competition. Player assessment will occur on the day of competition prior to the match during team warm-up; both on the putting green and at the range. The 6 golfers competing will be placed in the first 3 groups and the remaining 4 payers will form the 4th group. The 4th group is competing in a team format, stroke play competition to qualify for a place in the next match or tournament.

On-Course Team Practice is scheduled AFTER school on Home Match days for everyone who did not have early release. Those students need to coordinate self transport. Golfers playing their practice rounds who are participating in the 5th and 6th group should consider the round to be a qualifier for advancement to competitive player status.

Players at all levels are routinely assessed and appropriately paired in competitions which would promote competitive equity, personal growth and player development.
